The first day of our Agents of Change workshop, organized by Silvia Castelli and Ineke Sluiter, was very succesful!

With a total number of around 50 participants, we first listened to an inspiring keynote lecture by professor John McNeill (Georgetown University), entitled 'Mosquitoes, Molecules, and Megafauna: Who and What has Agency in Human History?'.

The first panel was centered around the theme of architecture, infrastructure and festivals, with presentations by Jean Vandenbroeck-Parant, Manolis Pagkalos, Christian Kicken, Robin van Vliet and Onno van Nijf.

The second and final panel of the first day of Agents of Change, focusing on medicine and philosophy, brought us to the world of Herophilus and anatomy (Chiara Cecconi) and the pseudo-Platonic dialogues (Albert Joosse).

We are looking forward to our second day, which takes place on Thursday 22, 2021 (15:00-18:45 Central European Time). If you are still interested to participate in our workshop, please send an e-mail to anchoring@let.ru.nl. The program for the second day can be found here.
